Disney World Honeymoon

Ok it’s official…I'm a Disney Adult! Maybe not as hardcore as some of peers but I’ve always had a love for Disney and I finally got to experience it for the first time in all of its magical glory!

Growing up we didn’t really take vacations and if we did it was always within driving distance, there was a lot of us and my Dad was the sole income earner. So to be able to experience Disney and be hit with all the nostalgia and magic of childhood…my inner child was dang happy when I went!

We were blessed to have been gifted the opportunity to experience Disney World by my cousin who is just the most giving, beautiful soul you could ever have in your life. Find her here or here.

Back to the trip…ok to really MAXIMIZE your time at Disney World, one you gotta have some rest time! There’s 4 Parks and trust me you want at least one day of rest! We utilized the bus system so we didn’t have to rent a car but we were also averaging between 10-12 miles per day!! Talk about tired feet!

Here’s our itinerary we followed:

We did 5 days on property

Day 1 arrive at 8am to Hotel on Property (Stayed at The Caribbean)

Check bags in (couldn’t check into room until later)

Explore Hotel, Grab a bite and Head to the Parks

Spent the Day at Animal Kingdom - We got drenched and finally could check into the hotel so headed back, changed and finished out the night at the park!

Day 2 Hollywood Studios - OMGG Rise of the Resistance was my ALL TIME FAVORITE RIDE it was so much fun!! Personally though for me Hollywood Studios is probably a half day park for me! We had dinner reservations at another resort so headed there and enjoyed some Southern Food complete with brisket and cornbread at Port Orleans. It was just ok, nothing spectacular except for the cornbread that was divine!

Day 3 Epcot - Drinks around the world? Say Less!!

Finally got to hang with my cousin and Auntie and had so much dang fun riding the rides, got to enjoy the real taste of Disney food (we went during the Flower Festival, highly recommend going during some kind of festival time!)

Jd had an entirely different outfit on but it was so dang hot that day he had to change!

Day 4 REST DAY - Very much needed, just a nice slow day to lounge around, we did end up going to Disney Springs and eating Chicken Guy but there was no rush to be anywhere and we just recuperated from the the amount of walking we did the previous 3 Days cause it was A LOT! If you're gonna be hitting every park, definitely plan a REST DAY in your schedule if it allows, you’ll be glad you did.

Day 5 Magic Kingdom - I think when people think Disney World they think Magic Kingdom and boy was it MAGICAL! I was filled with so much emotion feeling my inner child and I cried! I cried when I saw the Castle and I cried during the parade when I saw my childhood favorites roll by! Talk about an emotional rollercoaster.

It was also my first time really riding any rides or rollercoasters in 10 YEARS! I was so scared but it was truly so fun and I loved every minute.

While I went for my honeymoon with my husband, experiencing Disney with the right people is absolutely where it’s at! My husband is pretty new to Disney so getting to sing along with my cousin and reminisce together about our favorite princesses and movies was absolutely delightful!

Everything was absolute Magic at DW and I truly felt like I was somewhere else! From the smells, the architecture, cast members, the food and the vibes it was simply amazing and I’m so glad I could experience it all.
