Poke

Jd and I came up with recipe after buying poke over and over and tweaking it to our liking. A friend said our version was borderline ceviche (generally made from raw fresh fish or shrimp, that's marinated in lemon and/or lime citrus juices) and it made me laugh because our version is a fusion of our backgrounds me being pacific islander and Jd being half Mexican!

INGREDIENTS

1 lb sushi grade tuna

3 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp sesame oil

1 tsp minced garlic

1-2 tsp ginger

half a lemon & lime

1 tsp sesame seeds

Sriracha to taste

2+ stalks green onion

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut up tuna if not already cubed.

2. Add all ingredients together in one bowl and mix well.

3. Serve over rice and add your favorite toppings.

NOTES:

These are pretty general measurements you can add more or less to get the flavor you’re looking for, you can even add different kinds of hot sauce! Just have fun and make it your own!

I buy pre cubed tuna to make my life easier along with ginger and garlic already minced! You can also salt your tuna and rinse for a little extra flavor.

The longer it marinates the more flavor it will have!

Another variation is to add mayo for a creamy spicy mayo version.

Poke bowl toppings like avocado, seaweed salad, crab meat and tomatoes or just eat it over rice!

We’ve even done Poke nachos and tacos that are so yummy!
